Heavy Metal Nostalgia

A handful of metal festivals invade Vegas in the warmer months. “Psycho Las Vegas,” “Vans Warped Tour,” “Rock Into Spring” and “Las Rageous” are a few of the top festivals that boast eclectic lineups each night. Some of these festivals cover two or three separate nights so that you don’t miss out on any top names.

Be aware that these festivals are held at various venues. The hotel resorts host a few of these performances, but you can also find them in Downtown Las Vegas. Being in Downtown usually means that the performance is an outdoor event so dress appropriately. Springtime in Las Vegas can still be warm.

Punk Rock Exploration

Make your Memorial Day a memorable one with the “Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival.” The king of punk, Iggy Pop, is the headliner for this concert that takes place in Downtown Las Vegas. Punk originated in Europe where it spread like wildfire into the Americas. Get to know this rebellious yet complex music genre with a ticket to at least one night.

Pennywise, Bad Religion and The Spits will also be performing. If you’ve ever turned the radio on to a rock channel, you’ve probably heard these artists before.

Art, Music and Food

Do something good for the Vegas community by heading out to “Life is Beautiful.” This festival is different because it’s a mixture of song, food and educational displays. Support quality organizations around the city as you taste foods that come from around the world. It’s held in the outdoor, Downtown Las Vegas area so that you can feel the pulse of the city as the beats go on. Performers from nearly every genre attend this event. In previous years, Mumford & Sons, Major Lazer and other big names have performed and rocked the stage for hours on end.
